<< Click to Display Table of Contents >> Navigation: »No topics above this level« DXF export |
The export options are on the menu at the top of the screen. You can choose to export the whole drawing to a DXF file or just the selected items.
The second option will only appear if you have a selected object in the drawing
Please note:
Focus DXF exports may not display correctly when imported into "Techsoft 2D Designer" for laser cutting if there is a mixture of RED and BLACK lines in the Focus export.
Solution:
Step 1. Click/touch the Order for DXF button. After which, the shape for exporting may not look any different after clicking the button but the shapes will be ungrouped and ordered in a way that the Techsoft import function can interpret them correctly.
Step 2.Click/touch the 'export project as dxf' or 'export selected as dxf' to complete the process.
Exporting DXF files for importing into "LaserCut"
There doesn't appear to be any problem with line colour when exporting DXF for importing into LaserCut so there is no need to carry out Step 1.
Bitmap images
To include a bitmap image in a DXF file, you must first convert the bitmap to a vector drawing. For details of how to do this, see "Image tracing"
Exporting text
Before you can export text to a DXF file you must first convert the text to a path.
To do this, select the text and then click this button on the top toolbar.
To do the conversion, access to the appropriate font file is needed. There is a selection of google fonts on our website that are listed in the font panel on the right hand toolbar.
The font files that are present on your PC or tablet are not accessible to the program.
In the example on the left, Chinese text has been entered into the text input box. The font used in the input is a font on your PC or tablet. This will display correctly in the drawing app, however if you then try to convert this to a path he result will probably look like this.
This happens because the font in the font panel is set to "Roboto" and this font doesn't contain any Chinese characters.
To fix this click the undo button on the top toolbar to restore the original text, then select the text and choose a Chinese font from the font list. (There are two Chinese fonts that are shown in red.) Now repeat the text to path operation.
