Select this tool on the left toolbar and click on an image.

 

 

This will show a selection box around the image. Drag in the handles to set the part of the image you want to keep.

Double click anywhere on the image to crop it.

This tool only works on images. When the image is cropped only the parts within the box are retained - the original image is removed.
